Leading With Love Languages
You can use the five love languages to come up with ways to build relationships with your team.
Reps don’t leave companies, reps leave leadership.
This stings, but it’s true. The biggest thing that will keep reps returning summer after summer is a good relationship with their manager.

- On the Doors
- Reps LOVE when you can knock with them. By helping them reach their goals, you will also perfect your selling abilities and help the overall success of your office.
Gifts
- Food, food, food
- Young reps love to eat. Take the opportunity to invite reps over for dinner or dessert or drop off a little treat to their apartment.
- Written Notes
- Tangible praise and appreciation that can be saved and reflected on is important to some reps. Try leaving a note of gratitude or encouragement on their car or when returning items.
- Thoughtful Pick Me Ups
- Keep an ear out for what reps need or are interested in. Bringing someone their favorite treat or something they’d appreciate lets them know that you care about them outside of their sales.
Acts of Service
- On the Doors
- Again, knocking with your reps is a huge act of service. Along with knocking with them, you can record and critique their approaches. Time = care.
- Go To Guy
- You are responsible for your reps on and off the door. Becoming a go to guy helps build rapport and trust. Rides to the airport, helping fix flat tires, helping move furniture, etc. help build relationships.
Physical Touch
We don’t need a lawsuit on our hands… don’t worry about this one too much 😉
